Chiranjeevi's Political Entry - A Boon for TDP

Comparisons are made between The Late NTR and Chiranjeevi but the situation when the former entered politics was more conducive than what it is at present. There was no other political force to reckon with when NTR decided to jump into politics. Now, we have 3-4 major forces which can combat (or shall I say impact) the ruling party. Chiranjeevi's political rhetoric at the press conference may be huge hit as some of his movies, but the ground political realities are too difficult to comprehend for a novice with no clear cut agenda. The politically correct question answer session may win him some points but to convert them into votes is a gargantuan task.

I do not have an iota of doubt that Chiranjeevi's political entry would work in favor of Chandrababu Naidu more than anybody else. The amazing frequency with which my opinions and predictions match the actions of CBN baffles me to a great extent. Guys this is stupendous telepathy. The more recent one is this. I was arguing with my friends that CBN should let go Devender Goud rather than cajole him to stay with him. And it happend the very next day. Afterall, I hate opportunists. I would rate CBN far above his peers of the state as far as the political acumen is concerned. Not many would agree with me since he is not successful in stopping the outflow of dissident leaders. Contrary to the majority of views, I feel that the grass roots of TDP are being purged and CBN will see the fruits very soon. CBN is not fighting against the tide but trying to remain calm and conserve his energy and utlize it when the time is most becoming.

An avid follower of politics would, without doubt, vouch for the fact that an overall vote swing of 5% would make or break a government. And it is this very fact which would come in handy for Naidu when the actual electorate cast their voting rights next year. Out of every 100 votes that are likely to be garnered by Chiru's political outfit, not more than 25 would be from TDP and the rest from Congress and others. For me it is a simple arithmetic.

There are 3 chief ministers, according to me, who are a lethal combination of political dexterity and political will to bring about a change. One of course is our very own Chandrababu Naidu, the second Mr Narendra Modi and the third and the most under rated is Mr Digvijay Singh. The actual administrative skills of Digvijay Singh are being wasted by the high command by deploying them in the party administration and not other wise. Mr Modi showed his fundamental colours during the Godhra catastrophe and still managed to rein.

Now, my only hope is on CBN, who changed the lives of millions in the state by bringing the IT revolution. Giving a free meal and waiving farm loans may benefit the poor temporarily and save a few thousand rupees but what about the millions of sons and daughters of farmers whose lives are being changed forever because of the CBN’s IT push. Eat to live and not live to eat. Sadly, not many remembered this. Create jobs and show the poor how to earn their livelihood. CBN is surely my Robin Hood.

You know what makes you write like this? your inherent support to CBN. Even I like CBN because I have the fruits of his development but what about the people who doesnt know what computer is ? what abt the people who are not affected by IT boom or slump? what did CBN do for them? however we may develop industrially, dont you think farming can never become an option to us ? it must have top priority at all the times ... what did CBN do for farmers? you know something? ... these schemes, free power, 2 rs kg rice ... all these are political gimmicks to avoid the wrath of farmers and other poor people who are obviously the majority in the state/country .... if someone wants to do some good to farmers ... they have to build dams, reservoirs, etc to show them livelihood ... thats the way to help poor ... remmeber the saying "Give him a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, you will feed him for a life". anyway ... may be you are still in the state in which i am in few yrs back .. will take some time to look at this in a much more matured way ....

anyway chiru's entry would be good for the state and as far as i know .. he has pretty good chances of coming to power .... and your CBN and chiru's entry into politics doesnt work that way

:)

I agree with you in toto, Naresh. Even my contention was more or less the same. I just feel CBN was better than others. If you draw a bigger line beneath a line, the first line would look smaller. I feel that in his election campaign YSR utilized this myopia with farmers showcasing the urban growth vis a vis the agrarin growth.
